Successful participation at the Chemtech & Pharma World Expo 2009 in India
Date: 26/03/2009The Biotechnologypark Luckenwalde was represented with a booth at the Chemtech & Pharma World Expo 2009 in Mumbai. The fair is one of the most important Indian trade fairs in the area of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical equipment. More than 300 exhibitors from 6 countries were represented. "The fair has fully met our expectations. We still expect this year, new settlements of Indian companies," said Christoph Weber, Department of Biotechnology Luckenwalde SWFG mbH. With growth of 12 to 20% in 2008, the Indian pharmaceutical market is above-average growth. The global pharmaceutical market in the same period showed a growth of 5 to 6%. With a population of more than one billion people, India is regarding the consumption of drugs the second-largest market. Against this background, the Indian pharmaceutical industry is, globally, an increasingly important factor. Due to the worldwide recession and the strict entry regulations in the U.S., Europe is gaining a partner in R & D and production for Indian companies in importance. "We want to use these opportunities for the biotechnology Luckenwalde" said Christoph Weber.
