Ground-breaking ceremony Human BioSciences GmbH
At September 18th 2009 the ground-braking ceremony, for the new facility for the production of collagen based advanced wound care and cosmetic products was held at Luckenwalde Biotechnology Park. Human BioScience GmbH will invest in total 40 million Euros. The building of about 8,000 sqm in the Biotechnology Park will consist of production areas, warehouse offices and labs. Hundred jobs will be created. Human BioSciences GmbH has acquired the license of a collagen based wound care product from a U.S. manufacturer. The product is already FDA certified. In the U.S., Taiwan and India, the medical device is already in great demand and will be now introduced through the Brandenburg company exlusively in Europe. The products will help patients with acute and chronic wounds, among other patients with decubitus or diabetes. "Slow and steady wins," describes Brandenburg's Economics Minister Ulrich Junghanns (CDU), the long start-up period. The investment is the largest of its kind in the region, a new impetus to quality and a driving force in the industry. "Luckenwalde is a top address in biotechnology in the capital region," he pointed. Human BioSciences will establish a complete supply chain from research to manufacturing. It is closing a gap in the Brandenburg Biotechnology landscape, pointed out the Detlef Stronk, the chairman of the Economic Development Board of Brandenburg (ZAB). For the Mayor of Luckenwalde, Human BioSciences is no consolation and no adhesive plaster, but simply a lucky patch. Human BioSciences, assumed that the production will get in operation end of 2010.
