The Luckenwalde Biotechnology Park Department of the SWFG mbH is the main administrator of the Berlin-Brandenburg White Biotechnology Cooperation Network
(www.weisse-biotechnologie-bb.de).
Today, more than 50 billion Euros worth of goods are produced globally using white biotechnology processes.
The network acts as a development generator for white biotechnology in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
Its aim is to efficiently realize this field’s potential through intensive cooperation between research institutions and businesses.
Through combining a multitude of skills, collaborative partners are able to develop innovative solutions for complex problems in the
areas of chemistry, paper, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs.
White biotechnology is a strategically important field of technology, particularly for Brandenburg, with its strengths in the areas of biogenic
resources, biorefinery technology, biologically based materials research, bioplastics, bio fuels, the supply of chemicals and pharmaceuticals
and the traditional chemical industry; as this is where new ideas can be transformed into marketable products and services within a short period of time.
The service is directed particularly towards medium-sized businesses interested in continual improvement in efficiency and environmental compatibility,
who are seeking a qualified contact partner for this purpose.
